As the SOFII team is very small, we rely heavily on volunteers to help us spread the SOFII word and find new and exciting content for the thousands of SOFII users. We are looking to recruit SOFII ambassadors from all over the world to help us reach out to even more fundraisers.

Becoming a SOFII Ambassador is a great opportunity for anyone with a little bit of time to spare who is interested in learning more about fundraising and is eager to connect with other fundraisers from around the globe.

As a SOFII Volunteer Country Ambassador, we would like you to help us:

  • Keep an eye out for innovative and inspirational fundraising work and materials in your country.
  • Source exhibits and articles from top fundraisers to increase SOFII’s content.
  • Help build a country profile and write about how fundraising works in your country.
  • Research and identify possible promotional opportunities for SOFII (conferences, seminars, networking events, etc.).
  • SOFII intends to complement the resources already available out there and not to compete with them. So, please help us to find out what’s already out there.
  • But most importantly, as a SOFII ambassador your main task will be to help us spread the word (by email, in person, at conferences at seminars and everywhere you can possibly think of).

SOFII will provide you with any materials you need to publicise the website and our content.

What will you gain from this experience? You will:

  • Be associated with an innovative and growing project that is unique in its approach.
  • Receive gratitude from all your colleagues for introducing them to SOFII.
  • Meet and liaise with a number of inspiration fundraisers and campaigners.
  • Enjoy many opportunities to network and increase your professional contacts.
  • We would be happy to provide you with references from this voluntary experience.

SOFII will provide you with content/ material to help you spread the word (however, we do encourage you to adapt this material in order to ensure it has greater impact in your country. Feel free to write your own version of presentations and introductory emails and then share these with us).

Though the voluntary ambassador role is very flexible, we ask that you accept to undertake the role for at least six months.

If you decide to join the SOFII country ambassadors’ team, here is how to get started:

  1. Fill in our contact details form. Use this to tell us about you and what your expectations from the role are.
  2. Send in a reference letter from someone in a position of authority within the field, someone who knows you well and can vouch for you. They must have known you for at least 2 years. Their letter should refer to how well they feel you can do this volunteer role.
  3. After we have received your application, we will contact you to talk further about the role and how we can get started.

You can download more information here or contact SOFII’s project manager, Carolina with any questions.
