SOFII seeks to provide charitable fundraisers everywhere with a comprehensive, easily accessible archive of the best fundraising creativity from around the world.

‘SOFII
is a fantastic concept, one that will be extremely valuable to fundraisers.
I love the idea that “Fundraisers have the best stories in
the world to tell and the best of all reasons for telling them",
not just because it is true, but because it is important and subversive.
I'll be happy to do whatever I can to help with SOFII.’ |

What
is SOFII?
SOFII is The Showcase of Fundraising Innovation and Inspiration.
It seeks to provide those who raise funds for charities or for charitable purposes, wherever they are, with a comprehensive, easily
accessible archive of the best creative fundraising from around the world. And it’s free to fundraisers and others working in the fundraising/ nonprofit area. To register,
please contact Maxine Delahunty on maxine@sofii.org.
All the information on this site has been compiled to inform, guide and
help fundraisers when preparing their own fundraising strategies, campaigns
and promotions. In this way SOFII aims to improve fundraising practice
everywhere for the benefit of fundraisers, donors and the organisations
and causes they all serve.
Our
vision, with a caveat
This is a working prototype. It is far from finished. In time, we intend
that SOFII will grow to include many hundreds of examples of instructive,
inspirational and innovative fundraising.
SOFII will also link to the best fundraising websites, it will offer
articles, tips and opinions to download plus ideas, guidance and best
practice gathered from leading fundraisers around the world.

We intend SOFII’s standards to be high, so that it reflects and
showcases the best (and sometimes the worst, for we can all learn from
mistakes) of fundraising practice. Please bear with us as we try to get
this right. In doing so, we are guided by the following quote from Guy
Kawasaki’s Rules for Revolutionaries (Harper Business 1998):
‘Revolutionary ideas don’t fail because they come to market
too early. They fail because they aren’t revised fast enough. Get
the first version out and rework, rework, rework.’
Because we lack financial resources, it has not been possible to provide
the level of quality control and editorial checking for this prototype
that will be the hallmark of SOFII in the future. If you find errors or
inconsistencies please let us know and we will do our best to correct
them. Thank you.
